Bonaire is an island with a fragile ecosystem. The nature on Bonaire is not only essential for its flora and fauna but also for the well-being of the local population. By purchasing the nature fee or making a donation, you are contributing to the future of Bonaire.

Bonaire national marine park.

A large portion of the revenue from the STINAPA Nature Pass goes towards protecting Bonaire’s coral reefs. Bonaire’s underwater world, especially its coral reefs, holds immense value and is truly irreplaceable. Coral provides shelter to a wide variety of marine life and is vital for ecological balance. The funds are used for projects such as restoring damaged reefs and cleaning up pollution.

Support for national parks and reserves

The revenue from the STINAPA tag isn’t solely used for marine environments. A significant portion is invested in Bonaire national parks like Rooi Lamoenchi Nature Park and Washington Slagbaai National Park Bonaire. Thanks to the nature tag, Bonaire maintains and develops these parks. This includes not only protecting flora and fauna, but also improving infrastructure and promoting environmental education on the island.

How much does the nature fee cost?

In the past, there were different costs for STINAPA tags. Nowadays, the fee is the same for everyone over the age of 12 who enters the water. Whether you want to swim, snorkel, dive, kiteboard, or windsurf, the fee is always $40.- If you plan to visit Washington Slagbaai Park Bonaire or Rooi Lamoenchi Nature Park, you will also need a nature fee for these national parks.

Validity of the nature fee

The STINAPA nature fee is valid for one calendar year, from January 1st to December 31st. If you are staying on Bonaire during the New Year, make sure to purchase a new pass for the upcoming year. There is no need to buy a nature fee for children under 12.
